You only need a server for workflows that deploy somewhere else. A workflow can also run on this computer, with no server or SSH key at all.
Open your project's Connections tab, find the Servers section, and click Add server.
| Field | Default | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Name | — | Required. Must be unique within the project. |
| Host | — | Required, e.g. example.com. |
| Port | 22 | |
| Username | root | |
| SSH key | No key | Pick a key you've already added — see SSH keys. Can be left unset and attached later. |
| Remote deploy path | — | e.g. /home/deploy/app. Stored locally only, like the repository path — every step's command runs with this as its working directory. |
After saving, use the Test button on the server row — CID opens an SSH connection (through your proxy, if one is configured) and runs echo ok, then marks the server Connected or Disconnected accordingly.
