Paste two versions of any text or code and see exactly what changed, side by side or unified, down to the word. Ignore whitespace or case, and export a patch.
Original
Changed
Differences
Changed lines show exactly which words differ, so a renamed variable or a flipped digit doesn't hide in a long line.
Skip whitespace or case changes when all you care about is content, like comparing reformatted code.
Copy the result as a unified diff or download a .patch file that git apply and patch understand.
// faq
It uses the Myers diff algorithm (the same idea as git diff) to find the smallest set of added and removed lines, then compares the changed lines word by word to highlight what exactly differs.
Split view puts the original and changed text side by side, which is easiest for reading. Unified view shows one column with removed lines marked − and added lines +, the format used by git and code review tools.
Yes. Drop a file onto either side or use the open button. Text files up to 10 MB work; everything stays in your browser.
Tens of thousands of lines work fine. Very large inputs with many scattered changes take longer, because finding the smallest diff gets expensive; the page tells you while it's working.
